2010 Bolivia trip
Our trip to Bolivia went really well! We went to introduce folks from FUMC Church to the Bolivians working in Quechua ministry in the lower Cochabamba valley. Our church has been supporting this ministry for many years and wanted to meet face to face.
We hoped to encourage and strengthen them. We in return were very much encouraged by them. Javier and Lidia Solíz, along with many of the brothers and sisters of the lower Cochabamba valley, graciously welcomed us and made us a part of their lives. In so doing they have become a wonderful part of ours.
Joy Perry was a big hit with all the kids
We visited in their homes
Eating with Quechua people is important
Thursday night we participated in a service in the Caramarca community. Griff preached in English, Karen translated to Spanish and Pastor Felix translated the Spanish to Quechua. It was great!
Sunday night we attended the service at the Thiu Rancho United Methodist Church. Pastor Gustavo Loza preached in Spanish and Karen translated to English. Jesse and Bill Scroggin played guitar. Were were inspired and uplifted.
We had the opportunity to share with the students of a local school. Here Bill explains how a solar cooker works. The Good News was shared in word and deed to the kids and adults from the community.
We even got in a little dancing. In a night of cultural exchange some of the youth of Payacollo taught Joy and Griff the T'inku.
